Downtown Guayaquil is best explored by walking. You can admire exotic one-meter-long iguanas at the city’s second largest square (Iguana Square, officially called Parque Seminario), then visit Plaza Administrativa to discover the monumental neo-classical town hall with spectacular columns and gargoyles. Only a short walk from the historic ‘Moorish Clock Tower’, located on Malecón Simón Bolívar, a 3-km-long beautifully designed promenade that edges the broad Guayas River. At “La Rotonda” Monument, discover the sculpture that depicts the meeting between Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín, considered the two most important South American Independence leaders who led the continent’s plight for freedom against Spain. Then we continue on to the historic neighborhood of Las Peñas, a picturesque climb – lined with colorful houses – to the top of Santa Ana Hill, a spectacular panoramic viewpoint of the busy city below, the imposing Guayas River and the green mangrove belt that lies across it. Tropical fruit juice included.

IMPORTANT: Up to 6 pax this will be a walking tour and transfers will be arranged in taxis from and to the hotel. From 7 pax we include private transportation during the whole tour.
